I love being a midwife!
I have worked as a midwife for over 25 years, many of them spent in senior roles within a city centre hospital in the North East of England.
I have a BSc Hons degree in Midwifery Sciences and am also a qualified teacher of adults (PGCE). I feel my many years of clinical experience give me a real insight into what can be possible in a birthing environment and the skills to guide and support women to maximise their chances of fulfilling their hopes.
I am mother to three grown up children and live in Whitley Bay.
The ability to remain calm focused and relaxed in labour has transcended generations and cultures however nowadays some of women's natural intuition has been overtaken by social media and the amount of information they are surrounded by. I came across hypnobirthing some years ago and am constantly amazed at the difference it can
make to a woman's experience of labour and birth by going back to basics and revisiting simple techniques. I love the miracle and mysteries of pregnancy and that women instinctively know how to
I also love the impact hypnobirth training can have on birthing partners in giving them a more defined, active
role. we know that a supportive partner can make a big difference.
My aim is to give positive and empowering messages for parents
having a baby while having the experience to cover all topics needed.
